The Story

The tale of a daring sailor merchant aid turned visionary entrepreneur and the First Franchiser.

The story starts with a legend of a creative ship merchant aid who sailed the seas as a shipmate. He primarily sailed throughout the Caribbean seas. Even at an early age, he became fluent in many languages. However, he was never formally educated, nor was he fully aware of his original birthplace or the year he was born. At his death, they proclaim him to be at least 97 years old. Nevertheless, he had a reputation for being wise beyond his years and had acquired a mysterious smarts for business, commerce, and languages. He was once said to be of royalty.

With his natural and acquired business smarts and remarkable knack for fluency in languages, he eventually purchased his own merchant ship. He created the most lucrative merchant route after traveling the seas as a nautical merchant aid. His route was so valuable that it is said that if anyone mirrored it, they, too, would realize fortune. Thus, in order to secure his lucrative merchant route, he created a unique code that he can only decode. It is also rumored that he documented his codes in a book he called the “?codes noïrʖ.”

Traveling the seas, he discovered a handful of others with the same plight of searching for their birthplace and history, curiosity, and similar situations. With his knowledge of the various languages, the seas, and commerce, he navigated towards his journey in dual purpose, to discover his/their story and to build upon his business.

He developed a unique coded language to communicate amongst those with similar stories. He then taught the them various segments of his merchant routes and made them a part of his enterprise. He is said to be the world’s first organized franchise as he would charge them 30% percent of their earnings per year. His knowledge of the entire route was so calculated that this collection was on an honor system, and none of his “franchisees” would dare produce an inaccurate fee as they would be removed from the trusted route as part of his enterprise. He said he had hundreds of “merchant franchisees” throughout the Caribbean at the height of his enterprise.

He was rumored to have at least 16 children throughout the Caribbean; each time he visited a post, he would also see and spend valuable time with them. They, too, played an integral part in his life journey and purpose. He would give them a unique coin with an encrypted code of his next travel destination and a specific task to find information. He also encrypted the clues on each coin about the location of his fortune, which was buried somewhere in the Caribbean. The children were instructed upon his death to find each other based on the clues of the coins and then collectively decipher the clues to discover the buried fortune. If they were to discover the buried fortune, it would make them the wealthiest family in the world, but if he is murdered, the fortune would never be discovered as he has to communicate the last clue to the last person on his deathbed.

As mentioned previously, it is estimated that he was believed to be at least 97 years of age when his journey ended. He died of a natural death, and on his deathbed he had an aged note of which he handed one of his children and the note simply stated “?codes noïrʖ”.
